FEATURE

Claude Code Side Panel Arrives: Check Quota and Background Tasks Right in Your Terminal

If you want to keep an eye on Claude Code's usage and task progress from inside the terminal, there is now a dedicated side panel for that.

This feature requires a newer version of Claude Code that supports interface plugins (tested on version 2.1.289). After enabling it in the menu, start a new conversation or type /reload-plugins to load it. When the terminal is 144 columns wide or more, the panel expands automatically on the right; on narrower terminals, type /usage-dash to open it. The built-in macOS terminal only supports 256 colors, which may produce a gray background; you can select the ANSI dark theme in /config. The panel highlights in yellow any conversations waiting for authorization or waiting for MCP (Model Context Protocol, a protocol that lets AI connect to external tools) input, and background tasks also list the subagents launched by Claude through the Agent tool along with their status.

FEATURE

usage status Now Includes Antigravity and Grok Quotas in JSON Output

When you need to pull complete structured data through a script, usage status --json now includes quota information for Antigravity and Grok in the JSON output.

This change reads all Antigravity groups from the local cache (a storage area that keeps previously fetched results ready for direct reuse) and reads Grok billing from local records, along with the quota reset countdown and data age. If you normally prefer reading the text summary directly, the plain-text layout shown in the terminal stays exactly the same as before.

FEATURE

Claude Code Side Panel Auto-Updates Its Component and Improves Time and Quota Display

For the Claude Code side panel's workflow and interface presentation, this update fixes the upgrade mechanism and improves several data displays. When the usage app starts, it now automatically updates the enabled side panel to the latest built-in version. Previously, after an upgrade you had to manually close and reopen the panel to apply the new version; now no extra steps are needed at all. Once the panel's data update time is more than a minute old, it automatically switches to showing minutes or hours. When a quota window has missing data, the interface now hides that item outright instead of incorrectly showing it as 0%, so you will no longer mistakenly think your quota has run dry.
