Release notes

FEATURE

Claude Code status line is verified on Linux with real test payloads

Linux users looking to track Claude Code usage and metrics through usage previously had to guess whether the integration was supported because it was missing from documentation. In reality, the integration hook relies entirely on the Python standard library, and usage setup never placed an operating system check on the Claude path for macOS or Windows, meaning it already functioned on Linux without issue. It simply lacked test coverage and went undocumented. CI now installs the hook against a throwaway HOME directory on Ubuntu and feeds it a genuine statusLine payload to verify behavior.

FEATURE

CLI package lands on PyPI for instant terminal access without desktop apps

uvx usage-cli runs without installing anything; uv prepares Python 3.13 on its own so Linux and Windows users can try usage status --json, the dashboard, and reports without downloading the macOS app. The CLI is published to PyPI as usage-cli. Running uv tool install usage-cli keeps the command around; because the name usage was claimed on PyPI in 2016, the distribution is usage-cli, but both usage and usage-cli are installed as commands. This path ships the CLI only — menu bar and system tray apps remain unchanged and come from release downloads.

FEATURE

Antigravity usage is attributed to actual project directories instead of a static label

Antigravity (agy) token consumption is now accurately attributed to the project you were actually working in. Previously, every agy entry recorded a static "Antigravity" project name, which prevented the project usage ranking from showing which folder the tokens were spent in. Entries now resolve the working directory from the recorded shell commands in each session, falling back to "Antigravity" only when no command is found.

Original changelog

Original changelogClaude Code status line is verified on Linux with real test payloads
**The Claude Code status line is now verified on Linux.** The hook is stdlib-only and `usage setup` never gated the Claude path on macOS or Windows, so it already worked there — nothing tested it, so it went undocumented. CI now installs the hook against a throwaway `HOME` on Ubuntu and feeds it a real statusLine payload.
Original changelogCLI package lands on PyPI for instant terminal access without desktop apps
**`uvx usage-cli` runs the terminal interface without installing anything.** The CLI is now published to PyPI as `usage-cli`, so Linux and Windows users can try `usage status --json`, the dashboard, and the reports without downloading the macOS app; uv prepares Python 3.13 on its own. `uv tool install usage-cli` keeps the command around as `usage`. The distribution name is `usage-cli` because `usage` was already taken on PyPI in 2016; both `usage` and `usage-cli` are installed as commands. This path ships the CLI only — the menu bar and system tray apps are unchanged and still come from the release downloads.
Original changelogAntigravity usage is attributed to actual project directories instead of a static label
**Antigravity (agy) usage is now attributed to the project you were actually working in.** Every agy entry previously recorded a fixed `"Antigravity"` project name, so the project usage ranking couldn't show which folder the tokens were spent in. Entries now resolve the working directory from the session's recorded shell commands, falling back to `"Antigravity"` only when none is found.
