BUGFIX

Your year-in-review and heatmap no longer shrink when chat logs are cleared

Your Year in Review totals and the 52-week heatmap now keep their own ledger and won't suffer from amnesia just because your old chat logs get cleaned up. Previously, they recalculated everything from scratch using whatever conversation logs still existed on your computer, meaning if your logs got rotated out, your review shrank to just the last two months. Now, the system copies your daily score into a dedicated "ledger" every single day. Even if you completely delete all your old chats, the records in the ledger remain untouched (up to a 53-week window, beyond which older data is automatically trimmed). It's like a teacher who used to calculate your final grade by counting how many tests you still kept in your desk — now they record your score in a gradebook every day, so even if you lose the actual test papers, your points are safe.

Original changelogYour year-in-review and heatmap no longer shrink when chat logs are cleared
**Annual Wrapped and the 52-week contribution heatmap no longer lose history when source logs are pruned**: the year view recomputed everything from whatever Claude Code / Codex session logs still existed on disk, so once those logs were rotated away it could only ever show the last ~2 months. usage now persists a daily ledger (`~/.usage/year_ledger.json`) that accumulates over time — each rebuild merges the currently-available days in (overwriting a stored day only when the fresh total is at least as large, so a partially-pruned day can't shrink the record) and trims entries beyond the 53-week window. The heatmap, streaks, active days, and Wrapped totals are all computed from the merged ledger, so coverage fills toward a full year from here on.
