FEATURE

The menu bar quota stops getting stuck and correctly reflects your latest usage

The remaining Codex (another AI tool) quota shown on your menu bar will now update accurately. Previously, when checking your usage, the system would call it a day the moment it found old data in its primary database (SQLite, a lightweight database format), completely ignoring the fact that fresher quota limits were sitting right there in your text logs. This caused your menu bar to stay stubbornly pinned to yesterday's numbers. The system now cross-references both storage locations and always displays the entry with the most recent timestamp. It's like moving to a new house and updating your address at the post office, but your bank keeps printing your old address on your statements because they only checked their oldest filing cabinet; now, the bank opens both cabinets and uses whichever paper has the newest date on it.

Original changelog

Original changelogThe menu bar quota stops getting stuck and correctly reflects your latest usage
**Codex quota stuck on stale values**: `load_rate_limits()` returned as soon as SQLite (`logs_2.sqlite`) had any data, never comparing the newer `rate_limits` in `~/.codex/sessions/*.jsonl`, so the menu bar stayed pinned to the previous day's quota. It now reads both SQLite and JSONL and picks the newest valid entry by `updated_at`, keeping the prior SQLite-preferred behavior when timestamps are equal.
